Fort Payne City Schools

WildCatFort Payne has an excellent school system.  The system consists of four schools:

Wills Valley Elementary, Williams Avenue Elementary, Fort Payne Middle School, Fort Payne High School

State-of-the-art education is a priority.  Integrated into the schools is the latest in technology including Promethean Boards that revolutionize the learning experience by incorporating computers, large projectors, and touch-screen capabilities.  The Promethean Boards have been met with great excitement by both teachers and students and have had a huge impact on the learning experience.

The school system also offers great extra-curricular activities from various school clubs to excellent sports programs to a highly prized marching band.
Fort Payne High School is proud to say that 98% of their students passed the graduation exam and that they have an 87% graduation rate.

Fort Payne is also ideally situated for access to higher education opportunities.  Within minutes of town Northeast Alabama Community College is an excellent 2 year college.  Within easy commuting distance are several 4 year colleges including Jacksonsville State University, University of Alabama at Huntsville, and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
